The DIU Mathematics Olympiad – Summer 2026, organized by the Faculty of Science and Information Technology (FSIT), Daffodil International University (DIU) in association with the DIU Mathematical Society, concluded successfully with a prize-giving ceremony after an exciting competition held on 30 July 2026. The Olympiad featured both preliminary and final rounds with the enthusiastic participation of first-year students from various departments of the university.
A total of 23 students were recognized for their outstanding performances. The top three winners are:
- 🏆 Champion: Md. Tanvir Hasna Akash (Department of Computer Science and Engineering)
- 🥈 First Runner-up: Tahir Araf Abir (Department of Computer Science and Engineering)
- 🥉 Second Runner-up: Debsmita Sarkar (Department of Computer Science and Engineering)
The achievements of the winners reflect exceptional analytical ability, dedication, and a strong passion for mathematics. The university also appreciates the participation of all contestants, whose enthusiasm contributed to the success of the Olympiad.
The Prize Giving Ceremony was graced by several distinguished guests:
- Chief Guest: Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Alim, Treasurer, Bangladesh Mathematical Society, and Professor, Department of Mathematics, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET)
- Guest of Honor: Professor Mohammed Masum Iqbal, PhD, Honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor and Vice Chancellor (In-charge), Daffodil International University
- Special Guest: Professor Dr. Md. Fokhray Hossain, Dean, Faculty of Science and Information Technology, Daffodil International University
- Special Guest: Kazi Md. Khairul Bashar, Researcher, eMath, Bangladesh
The Olympiad was convened by Professor Mohammed Masum Iqbal, PhD, whose leadership, along with the dedicated efforts of the organizing committee, faculty members, volunteers, the DIU Mathematical Society, and the university administration, ensured the successful execution of the event.
The DIU Mathematics Olympiad aims to inspire students to strengthen their mathematical knowledge, develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and encourage greater interest in research, innovation, and technological advancement.
